How I practise counselling.
( see www.Wilmslowguild.org ) next year; March 27th/28th 2021 for a weekend at The Palace Hotel Buxton for a workshop in "An Introduction to Mindfulness and Emotional Intelligence").
I work mainly from home, (including Skype) and work places with groups. I will integrate the approaches to suit the need of the individuals agreeing to enter into the counselling process. Any question fear or worry can be talked through at the first session, and there is no obligation on your part to continue, if after one session you feel enough has been gained.
The times and boundaries of the counselling process will be
discussed and established in a way that is comfortable to us both.
Offering counselling to those experiencing:
◦ Grief, bereavement
◦ identity crisis
Profile of Marion S Duff
Member - registered MBACP - Cert Ed.-B.Th ( fully insured)
I have been trained as a counsellor, qualified teacher, and later supervisor since the early 1980's.
I began using the psychodynamic approach, touching on complimentary psychoanalysis, and, from using transpersonal theories for personal development, integrated a variety of theories into my practice. This has evolved into a more person-centred approach from integrating whatever helps from other approaches and theories.
As a qualified teacher I teach the person-centred approach, (in FE/HE Colleges) touching on CBT and the integrative approach. I also supervise counsellors, counselling tutors, MA students, pastors and therapists.
I run workshops for specialist groups on a variety of subjects in counselling, and work from home in 1-1 counselling, including couple counselling (with a variety of problems, identity crisis, loss, depression and despair). I also counsel using Skype when there is too great a distance for travel.
